At some point after becoming a mom, I realized my camera roll had become a very specific mix of baby photos, moss, cabins, screenshots of recipes I’ll probably never make, and pictures of cool mushrooms I found on hikes.

Honestly, that pretty much sums me up.

I’ve always loved being outdoors. Give me a forest trail, a mountain view, a lake, or a cozy cabin in the woods and I’m happy. I’m the person who stops every five minutes to take a photo of a fern or point out a weird-looking tree while everyone else is trying to keep walking.

Then I became a mom, and somehow all of those things became even more special.

Seeing the world through my son’s eyes has made me slow down and notice things I used to overlook. A pinecone can become a treasure. A puddle can be the highlight of the day. And somehow a walk that should take twenty minutes now takes an hour because there are approximately 4,000 sticks that need to be inspected.

Motherhood has been amazing, exhausting, hilarious, humbling, and occasionally sticky. Most days I feel like I’m doing a decent job. Other days I find myself wondering how I got applesauce in my hair when I haven’t eaten applesauce in weeks.

That’s real life.

And that’s exactly why I started Moss & Motherhood.

Not because I’m an expert on motherhood.

Not because I have a perfectly curated home.

And definitely not because I have my life together.

I started this space because I wanted a place to share the things I genuinely love: family adventures, nature, cozy homes, simple traditions, road trips, seasonal recipes, and all the little moments that make life feel meaningful.

The name Moss & Motherhood felt right because both represent things that grow slowly and quietly. Neither one can be rushed. Both thrive when they’re given time, care, and a little room to breathe.

This isn’t a blog about perfection. It’s about finding joy in the middle of the chaos. It’s about muddy shoes, unfinished cups of coffee, snack crumbs in the car, spontaneous adventures, and creating memories with the people you love most.

If you’re a fellow nature-loving mom, someone who dreams about cabins on Zillow for fun, or a person who gets a little too excited when they find a particularly good patch of moss, you’re in the right place.

Thanks for being here.
