Baby-Friendly Sweet Potato & Blueberry Oat Bites

These Sweet Potato & Blueberry Oat Bites have become one of our favorites because they’re naturally sweet, freezer-friendly, and soft enough for babies who are still learning to chew.

Plus, they’re messy in the best way.

  • Soft texture for babies
  • Naturally sweet with no added sugar
  • Great for baby-led weaning
  • Easy to freeze and reheat
  • Uses simple ingredients I usually already have on hand
  • 1 medium sweet potato, cooked and mashed
  • ½ cup blueberries (fresh or thawed frozen)
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, mash the sweet potato until smooth.
  4. Stir in blueberries and gently crush some of them with a fork.
  5. Add oats, egg, and cinnamon.
  6. Mix until combined.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto the baking sheet and lightly flatten.
  8. Bake for 18–22 minutes until set.
  9. Cool completely before serving.

Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.

To serve from frozen, simply thaw overnight or warm for a few seconds in the microwave.

One thing motherhood has taught me is that babies have absolutely no respect for the amount of effort that goes into meal prep.

I can spend an hour making something special, and my son will throw it on the floor in under three seconds.

But these little oat bites are one of the few things that usually survive the taste test.

Usually.

No promises.
